The firm is led by founding partners Carolina Cañón and Eric Thompson, recognized experts in the areas of family wealth management and corporate taxation, respectively.
They are backed by a specialized, interdisciplinary and highly experienced team.
Carolina is an expert lawyer advising companies and family businesses in the areas of tax consulting, national and international tax planning, and family wealth management. She has also supported foreign companies from different industries in establishing their businesses in Colombia by providing strategic tax advice for their subsequent implementation in the country.
She was a founding partner of Cañón & Cañón Abogados, a firm from which Cañón Thompson was born as part of a corporate reorganization process to give rise to a phase of greater sophistication and growth.
She has been recognized on several occasions as a leading lawyer in the area of private wealth law and tax in Colombia by prestigious international rankings and is currently academic director and professor of the course on family wealth management at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá.
During his professional career, Eric Thompson has worked as a consultant in different areas of corporate taxation such as international taxation, M&A taxation, tax planning and tax litigation.
His almost eight years of career as a corporate executive allowed him to deepen his knowledge in corporate tax management with emphasis on multinationals.
He has been a speaker in various forums in Colombia and abroad and has published articles in national and international publications.
Prior to launching the new firm, he also worked at Cañón & Cañón Abogados.
